Bowls Day another huge success

The West Coast Rollers held their third annual Bowls Day on Saturday, December 7 – and it proved another resounding success.

On a hot and windy at the Mowbray Bowls Club, 20 teams and around 70 people showed up in a variety of costumes, taking to the greens with booze in hand and fun in the air, looking to wrestle the title from last year’s champions, The Pshycodelic Mexicans, led by Hannes Engelbrecht.

As it turned out, the winner was unexpected – the Senioritas, who had only decided to play a few minutes from the start and who were only there to support Amigos, brushed aside all before them to claim the prize, beating the Bowling Bulls in the Final.

Andrew Young and his Fuckaneers team scooped the best-dressed prize for the second year running, with Kim Young and the Material Girls a close second.

The Material Girls’ Lynne Griggs also won the raffle, a lovely coffee table made by Jacques Laubscher.

Finally, a massive thanks to Steven from Cape Style Wines for sponsoring the Bowls Day for a second year running – your support is much appreciated!
